A trading company has, as a partner of craft, industry and smaller
trade companies, about 90.000 articles in its catalogue, which are
delivered to the customer "right on time" using a sophisticated
logistic system.
The area gantry robot type FP 100 Omega is handling the task of sorting and palletizing single boxes and lids of varying dimensions, with an overall performance of 600 units per hour. Four palletizing spots are serviced by the robot, which also puts the needed empty pallets to the right place for itself. To maximize performance with the robots, boxes and lids are being prestacked. Bundles needed right away are being supplied in stacked form to the comissioning through an attached conveyor technique.
Besides the area gantry robot and the stackers delivery from Ro-ber also included a minimal height pallet conveying system needed to allow the use of pallet trucks and additionally a conveying system delivering the bundles into the gripping area.
Launch of the system, which was developed for the prime contractorship of Siemens-Dematic, was July 2002.
