Palletising in covering boxes – Gantry robot convinces by spacious active working area

Delicate and damageable goods must be specially protected for in-house transport and for transport on the pallet to the customer. Load securing by means of shrink wrap protects the goods from slipping, not necessarily, however, from damage.

One possible solution is to put the goods in so-called corrugated cardboard pallet boxes. However, this manual loading means an enormous physical strain for the personnel, on the one side due to the high amount of products, on the other hand due to the high weight of each single product.

T  h  e   solution for automatic loading of the pallet boxes is an area gantry robot of the series type GENIX FP150. In case of low ceiling heights it is equipped with a telescopic axis. The products are identified due to the data matrix code, classified and assigned to the palletising places. Products with illegible bar codes are picked by the gantry robot and placed on a separate product transport system.

There are three lines for palletising. The pallet boxes on the euro-pallet are allocated to the system automatically. The gantry robot grips the products with a vacuum gripper and palletises them directly into the pallet box. After loading has been finished and reported to the data base system, the pallet is being exported from the system automatically and the pallet boxes are labelled automatically.
