Three Cell Concepts for Automation in the tightes of spaces
Limited space and low ceilings often make it difficult to integrate new automation technology in existing production and storage areas (brownfield). RO-BER's Compact Line offers a space-optimized cell architecture and three standard solutions for different tasks: a high-performance piece-picking cell for individual item picking, a fully automated loading/unloading cell for floor trolleys with small load carriers (crates), and a modularly scalable compact palletizer that can be used for end-of-line palletizing as well as other applications.
Proven Gantry Robot Technology with Cabinetless Control
All cells in the Compact Line are based on Cartesian servo axis systems and standard components from the proven RO-BER gantry robot technology, ensuring durability and long-term spare parts availability. Control is provided by a cabinetless IPC compact controller (UL-ready and easily integrated with a wide variety of MFR/WMS systems), which is fully integrated into the cell housing. This design saves floor space and simplifies installation by eliminating complex wiring. All compact cells enable quick (re)commissioning, as they are delivered as turnkey units pre-tested at our factory.
The cell processes KLTs ranging in size from 300 × 400 × 70 mm to 600 × 400 × 320 mm with a handling weight of up to 50 kg. The maximum stacking height, including floor rollers (400 x 600 x 160 mm), is 1,350 mm. The small load carriers (KLTs) are handled at approximately 400 cycles per hour. With a double handle, up to 800 KLTs per hour are possible. Sliding doors made of safety glass ensure optimal accessibility with minimal space requirements, complemented by an integrated AGV safety gate. Reversing the process flow is also possible, allowing the cell to be used for the automated loading of floor trolleys.
With the compact cells developed by RO-BER for the automated loading and unloading of pallet trucks, customers now have two compact and flexibly integrable solutions at their disposal, which can be quickly and easily incorporated into existing material flows. The cathodic dip coatings stacked on pallet trucks are automatically transferred to the cell by on-site AGVs and pulled in via a safety gate, including the pallet trucks.
The RO-BER compact palletizer is distinguished by its modular design, which allows for flexible adaptation to different requirements. This compact palletizer excels as a space-saving end-of-line palletizer as well as a small palletizing center; and all this even with ceiling heights starting at 3,000 mm!
