Palletizing of open trays

The palletizing of open trays with stacking lugs places particularly high demands on the gripper system. RO-BER has installed a high-performance palletizing system for a manufacturer of baked goods.

The area gantry system shown in the photo is equipped with three robot saddles from the GENIX FP150 range. In order to palletize all baked products supplied by a total of 19 production lines quickly and with process assurance onto a wide range of pallet types (Euro / industrial / Chep / Düsseldorf / quarter-pallets), the open trays are initially pre-stacked in the feeding container conveyance system. Using the lift table integrated in the high-performance palletizing centre it was possible to minimise the vertical travel paths of the robots, as well as the lengths of the Z-axes. The grippers, which are automatically adjustable to the various tray formats, also perform the handling of stabilising intermediate layers if necessary.
