The plug-and-play solution, consisting of a pre-assembled unit and pre-tested at RO-BER's factory, is easy to transport thanks to its compact footprint and can be integrated into the customer's facility in a space-saving manner (e.g., by installing fully glazed sliding doors) and combined with manual workstations. The cell can be ideally connected to the system periphery using conveyor technology or flexible shuttle technology. 100% product verification is achieved through integrated scanning and weighing functions. Machine learning methods enable the cell's robot to gain experience with each pick and learn from it.

The implemented, patented pick point optimization artificially shifts the gripping point, ensuring that the product barcode is not obscured by the gripper. Coupled with the integrated barcode read rate optimization, the piece-picking system supports zero-defect tolerance and end-to-end product traceability. At least 99.5% of products (with code placement according to Global Standard 1 specifications) can be read directly on the first attempt. In addition to increasing picking performance and meeting picking rate targets in the highly regulated pharmaceutical sector, the RO-BER piece-picking cell guarantees optimal relief for employees and efficient, predictable order processing. Depending on size, weight, and storage method, the solution can pick up to 1,200 individual items per hour. The self-contained robot cell covers two source and three destination stations, which, depending on the task and configuration, are equipped with state-of-the-art 2D and 3D vision to precisely control the robot's material flow. Furthermore, the "black box" scenario allows for independent handling of error situations without direct interaction with the higher-level WMS/MFS.
