Within the cell, the KLTs are automatically destackled and transferred to the downstream conveyor system for direct storage in the automated small parts warehouse (AS/RS). An integrated buffer area ensures continuous processing and decouples the material flow from varying production line cycle times. Empty floor rollers are collected, stacked by the cell's combination gripper, and made available for manual or fully automated removal via AGV. This just-in-time processing, facilitated by the automated interface between production and the AS/RS, stabilizes the material flow and simultaneously increases process and supply reliability.

The cell processes KLTs ranging in size from 300 × 400 × 70 mm to 600 × 400 × 320 mm with a handling weight of up to 50 kg. The maximum stacking height, including floor rollers (400 x 600 x 160 mm), is 1,350 mm. The small load carriers (KLTs) are handled at approximately 400 cycles per hour. With a double handle, up to 800 KLTs per hour are possible. Sliding doors made of safety glass ensure optimal accessibility with minimal space requirements, complemented by an integrated AGV safety gate. Reversing the process flow is also possible, allowing the cell to be used for the automated loading of floor trolleys.
