Buffer for plastic boxes

A robot-based storage system has been developed for this customer from the food industry, in order to supply production with empty containers and to buffer filled reusable containers after production.

With approx. 350m² storage space, which is spanned by two area gantry robots from the Genix range, a buffer system has been designed for our customer with a high packaging density and container capacity. An upstream linear gantry performs the unmixed pre-staking of the filled reusable containers. The stacks of boxes arrive in the working area of the two gantries via a conveyor system connection. The master computer specifies the requirement-oriented relocation of the full containers for packaging, whereby access prioritisation takes place within the framework of the storage space management with consideration to the expiry date of the products in the buffer.
